Folio (370 x 300mm.), 51 albumen prints by Bonfils and others (average 225 x 170mm., or the reverse), mounted on card, recto and verso, contemporary black pebble grain morocco, spine in compartments with raised bands, gilt edges, some fading to images, light scattered spotting, a few images with minor closed tears, mounts slightly bowed

This album contains 24 photographs of people and costumes taken from life, together with a photograph of a Samaritan Torah scroll. On the facing leaves are photographic reproductions of book illustrations by various artists, many of which borrow compositional elements from the original subjects of the albumen prints.
