Height 28 3/4 in. by Width 12 1/2 in. by Depth 4 in.

This is a very rare example of a Pennsylvanian German eighteenth century brotschneidebrett or bread cutting board.  A related nineteenth century example is in the collection of the Philadelphia Museum of Art (see Beatrice B. Garvan, The Pennsylvania German Collection, (Philadelphia, PA: Philadelphia Museum of Art, 1982), p. 132, no. 63).
