A pioneering figure in the development of modern art in Hyderabad, Surya Prakash is known for his crystalline depictions of the natural world. His canvases showcase an exquisite interplay of space, light and colour, and reveal the beauty found within his humble subjects - in the case of the current lot, the unfurling leaves of a cabbage he saw on his kitchen table one evening. Prakash has participated in numerous solo and group shows in India and abroad, in Germany, Poland, Czechoslovakia, France, United Kingdom and United States.
