In New Delhi in 1968, Prashant Vichitra, along with artists including Paramjit Singh, Lakshmi Dutta, Anupam Sud and Jagdish Dey, set up a joint printmaking studio and a new artistic collective named ‘Group 8’. Vichitra is the husband of Mridula Krishna (lot 54). Mridula is the daughter of the artists and printmakers Kanwal and Devayani Krishna (see lots 1-3, 56, 74-5). The current lot, a charming print from 1977, reveals Vichitra’s mastery of the intaglio medium.
