The canvas has not been lined. There is a pattern of craquelure throughout. Examination under ultra-violet light reveals some scattered minor spots of retouching to the lower left corner - notably near the lower left edge and to the wall above the seated figure. There is a small area of retouching within the shadow of the doorway and some spots around this, some faint strokes above the figure holding the gun and a thin vertical line to the wall, far left. Otherwise the work is in good condition, ready to hang.
