The movement is in working condition at the time of cataloguing. The dial is in very attractive condition with beautifully raised hard enamel signature. There is some very minor spots to the seconds registers and some minor losses to the dial underneath the bezel. The case is in very crisp condition with only very light surface wear. Overall it is in very good condition.

Please note that the movement has not been tested for the accuracy of time and may need a service at the buyer's expense. Sotheby's does not guarantee the future working of the movement and we do not guarantee the authenticity of any individual component parts since subsequent repairs and restoration work may have resulted in the replacement of original parts. Sotheby's New York, Property from the Estate of Esmond Bradley Martin, October 2002, lot 50

The Patek Philippe reference 706 was in production from 1940 until approximately 1960. The case is distinguished with its “Bell Pendant” and two piece case, snap on case back, 45mm diameter case made by Emile Vichet. The reference was produced predominantly in yellow and pink gold.

The present watch features a two-tone dial that is very well preserved with beautifully raised hard enamel scales. The case, too, is in very crisp and well preserved condition.
