從1954年至1973年，這19年間，全國茶葉統一收購，納入計劃經濟的政策規定下，雲南的特選茶青毛料需每年調撥到廣東茶區做拼配，為調配茶青而采拼配策略，所以才製成這批廣雲貢餅，由於融入了廣東茶葉進出口公司獨創的配方和工藝技術，具有廣式韻味，臺灣和香港的茶人又稱之為“廣雲貢”。廣雲貢餅因在廣東生茶，成餅後餅內的水汽不易排出，故茶湯相對於其他相同年份的生餅偏紅。由於用料、生產年代的差異，據專業茶人品飲分析，60年代生產的廣雲貢餅所含雲南茶青叫純，因而湯色紅亮。野樟香濃，口感豐富。
