Description

NIKE, NIKE SB DUNK HIGH PRO 'HEAVEN'S GATE', SIZE 9

Rubber, Leather, Cotton, Suede

2007

Perhaps the most talked-about Nike SB Dunks of 2008, this infamous Nike Dunk High Pro ‘Heaven’s Gate’ never actually hit retail shelves. One of a small number of known pairs, this unreleased sample was inspired by “Heaven’s Gate,” a religious group known for committing mass suicide in 1997, where 39 members were found dead all wearing the same exact outfit, which happened to include a pair of black and white Nike Decades.

Nike SB team rider Todd Jordan designed the Dunk High in a black, white, and purple colourway as an homage to the cult members. Using several different premium materials, the overall design made this one of the finest crafted Dunks of 2008. Soft black leather was used for the toe and side panels, black suede for the toe box and flap, and purple canvas was used for the eyestays and collar. One of the most attractive details on the shoe is the light blue lining and the light blue accents on the purple mesh tongue. A white leather Swoosh completes the look.

This pair comes with both a sample stamp on the lining, as well as a Final Adoption Sample tag dating the manufacture to 2007.
