the four triangular stuffed seats within planked, down-curved arms with crockets and compound turned rosewood and blocked supports, with rosewood and ebony inlay and including carved gilt rosettes on a blue painted ground, the adapted crenellated centre now containing a tole jardinière, on brass cappings and castors, covered in a William Morris style woven fabric

216cm.; 7ft. 1in. wide along the diagonal

Of superior quality. The upper section has been adapted (and includes crude cuts to timber) to accommodate a brown painted jardinière as described above, this planter is distressed. The crenellated border around the planter has a conforming later brown wash. Although there are some losses to polish and chips and scratches in places, it really is impressive and well made. The later upholstery is well chosen and generally good.
