Forbidden Planet, based on Shakespeare's The Tempest, is one of the most cherished sci-fi classic films of all time. The film was directed by Fred M. Wilcox, and stars Walter Pidgeon, Anne Francis, and Leslie Nielsen. It is also notable for introducing cinema goers to Robby the Robot, one of the most famous robots ever to appear on the silver screen.
