Cette Sacrée Gamine/ Naughty Girl (1956), poster, First Japanese release (1958)
This French musical comedy was directed by Michel Boisrond. Roger Vadim wrote the screenplay, and it stars Brigitte Bardot as sexy wild child Brigitte, daughter of nightclub owner Paul Latour (Bernard Lancret). The police suspect Latour of being the ringleader in a counterfeit ring, as his nightclub is being used as a front for a gang of forgers. Latour has been framed and travels to Switzerland - where Brigitte is finishing school - to establish who has set him up. Not wanting Brigitte to get caught up in the police investigation, he asks handsome cabaret entertainer Jean Clery (Jean Bretonnière), who sings at his club, to take Brigitte out of school and look after her for a few days. During this time, Brigitte causes absolute chaos. She upsets people, starts a fire, causes problems between Clery and his fiancée, and ends up in prison for swearing. All comes right in the end, with Latour finding out a few home truths about his 'baby'!
