Helen Sebidi

South African painter Helen Sebidi is internationally recognised for her figurative compositions and has mastered a surrealistic approach in the creation of her work. A Vision of the Future II depicts three figures and an animal in the foreground of the work, created through the use of complementary crayon-coloured brushstrokes. These brushstrokes are created in a stippled style of paint application on canvas and depicts an abstracted dream-like image. A fine example of her signature vibrant colour palette is perfectly replicated in A Vision of the Future II. Sebidi’s work has been exhibited at renowned institutions such as the Norval Foundation in Cape Town.
