Carlo Alberto Baratta

Baratta's sheets are always characterized by shimmering lights contrasting with dark areas of shadows, as we see in the present drawing.  His very rapid brushstrokes and his painterly manner are also very typical and representative of his eclectic style, which combines the Genoese tradition with elements from Venice, Bologna and Rome.
