Colombe et chouette

stamped Vallauris; dated 9.8.50, numbered I and inscribed Vallauris on the underside

painted and partially glazed ceramic; pignate (cooking vessel)

height: 7 5/8 in.

19.5cm.

Executed on 9 August 1950, this work is unique.

Claude Picasso has confirmed the authenticity of this work.

The ceramic is sound. There are some small scattered surface losses to the exterior and interior of the vessel, which are inherent to the medium. There is a stable firing crack of approximately 2 1/4 inches to the neck of the vessel which is original. This work is in good condition.
