La Jatte de lait

signed B. Morisot (lower right)

oil on canvas

21⅝ by 22⅛ in

54.9 by 56.2 cm.

Executed in Mézy in 1890.

The canvas is unlined. The edges are taped. The colors are fresh and the surface is clean. There are a few small areas of fine craquelure located mainly in the lower register of the canvas visible only under close inspection. There are areas of paint shrinkage in the center and top right quadrants. Under UV light inspection, small areas of inpainting fluoresce along the four edges of the canvas, as well as a few small dots on the figure's face. This work is in very good condition.

Framed: 31 5/8 by 32 in. (80.3 by 81.3 cm.)
