This work on canvas has been mounted onto board, quite possibly by the artist himself. There is no reason to reexamine this method of support. The painting is probably slightly dirty, but looks well nonetheless. A few restorations can be seen under ultraviolet light. A retouching has been applied to a small loss at the top of the forehead of the figure. No other restorations can be seen within the figure. There is a restoration on the lower left edge near the lower left corner, and there is another small spot of retouching beneath the dress in the lower left. A retouch can be seen in the mat on the floor in the lower right. Restorations can also be seen on the tiled floor to the right of the figure’s hips and to the right of her shoulder. This work is in very good condition and can certainly be hung as is. (This condition report has been provided courtesy of Simon Parkes Art Conservation, Inc.)
