signed A. Rodin, inscribed © by Musée Rodin 1959 and with the foundry mark Georges Rudier/Fondeur. Paris; with the raised signature A. Rodin on the inside

height: 44.5cm., 17½in.

Conceived circa 1878-82 and cast in bronze in an edition of at least 13; this example was cast in bronze in 1959.

This work will be included in the forthcoming Catalogue Critique de l'oeuvre sculpté d'Auguste Rodin currently being prepared by the Comité Rodin in collaboration with Galerie Brame & Lorenceau under the direction of Jérôme Le Blay under the archive number 2019-6013B.
