127 by 109 cm., 50 by 43 in.

Colour:

The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate, although the overall tonality is slightly lighter and there are no magenta undertones in the original.

Condition:

This work is in good condition. Executed on cream wove paper. The sheet is hinged to the mount in various places. The sheet undulates slightly, due to the application of the medium. There are handling marks on the upper left and right extreme corners, possibly due to handling in the studio. There is fine paint shrinkage in places in the black pigment with associated minor specs of paint losses along the extreme lower edge (the longest of which measures approx. 2cm in length), revealing the green pigment underneath. There is a minor nick on the lower right extreme corner. All surface irregularities are in keeping with the artist’s working process and choice of medium. There are two areas of minor retouching visible under ultraviolet light in the black pigment towards the center lower extreme edge. This work has not been examined outside of its frame.
