The canvas is not lined and thin batons have been attached to the upper and lower turnover edges. There is a milky varnish through which UV light cannot fully penetrate, however UV light examination does reveal some areas of retouching along the left, right and upper edges, most prominently to the centre of the left edge. There is some frame abrasion to the extreme upper edge with some associated tiny paint losses. There is a stretcher bar mark and some fine lines of craquelure in places. There is some light surface dirt, a light scratch towards the upper left corner and a few minor surface accretions. This work is in overall good condition.
