Une chaise devant un bureau

stamped with the studio stamp (lower right)

pencil on paper

27 by 17.8cm., 10⅝ by 7in.

Framed: 43.5 by 34.5cm., 17⅛ by 13⅝in.

Executed circa 1937.

The authenticity of this work has been confirmed by Alain Blondel.

Executed on cream wove paper, not laid down and attached to the mount in two places along the upper edge. The upper edge has been torn from a sketchbook and there are some very light nicks and creases to the lower edge. There are some light surface scratches, away from the composition, and two tiny indentations to the sheet only visible upon very close inspection. There is some surface dirt and light handling marks and creases to the sheet consistent with age and possibly from the artist's studio. There is a light pencil sketch on the verso. This work is in very good condition.
