from whom acquired in 1993 by Patrick and Mavis Walker, London
A. Morassi, Dessins Vénitiens du Dix-huitième Siècle de la Collection du Duc de Talleyrand, Milan 1958, no. 57 (as Bernardo Bellotto), reproduced

This charming, rustic landscape was previously attributed to Bernardo Bellotto (see Literature), but it is more comparable in style to the work of Marco Ricci. In fact, Morassi, in his 1958 catalogue entry, even remarked that the figures were reminiscent of those seen in Marco Ricci's drawings.

A comparable landscape drawing by Ricci is in the Royal Collection, at Windsor Castle.1
