With John Mitchell & Son, London.
Emily Stannard, the most accomplished female British still life artist of the 19th century, was born into an artistic family and would live and paint in Norwich well into her eighties. Inspired by Dutch floral still life painters, especially Jan van Huysum, she worked in a highly finished and colorful style which won her recognition and awards from the Norwich Society of Artists, of which she became an honorary member in 1831.
