From whom acquired in 2021 by the present owner.

The signature on the present portrait comes very close to the similarly signed and identically dated Portrait of a man in The Museum of Fine Arts, Brussels.¹In size, format, and handling this handsome portrait may also be compared to an unsigned canvas by Wautier sold London, Sotheby's, 16 December 2021, lot 319.
