There acquired by the former owners.
Possibly, A. Lasius, Quiringh van Brekelenkam, Doornspijk 1992, p. 155, cat. no. B36 or B37.

This charming interior scene of a modestly-dressed couple drinking wine is dated 1664, situating the work during Van Brekelenkam's most productive period. Following both Jan Steen and Gabriel Metsu's departure from Leiden, Van Brekelenkam assumed the position of lead producer of such genre scenes, which were much in demand.

Angelika Lasius includes two unlocated paintings of this subject in her catalogue raisonné of Van Brekelenkam's oeuvre. Neither is listed with dimensions, however, so it remains difficult to ascertain if either refers to this work.1
