Jacob Carl Stauder was trained by his father and worked near Lake Constance and in Upper Swabia. He was appointed Episcopal Court Painter by Prince-Bishop Johann Franz Schenk von Stauffenberg and frequently traveled for commissions, most of which came from monasteries.
