Description
Formerly in the collection Empress Nam Phuong, the last Empress of Vietnam
Gold and ruby brooch, René Boivin, 1933-1934
Of three-dimensional design, set with a cabochon ruby, framed by spikes radiating from a domed base enhanced with ruby beads, French assay mark for gold and maker's mark.
Accompanied by a certificate from Françoise Cailles and Jean-Norbert Salit stating that the brooch was made by René Boivin between 1933 and 1934.
It is understood that this brooch was formerly in the collection of Empress Nam Phuong, the last Empress of Vietnam, but there is no documentation accompanying this lot.
