Tout dans ces croquis réalisés au feutre, témoignent de l’allure Saint Laurent : cette façon d’étirer un corps, de préférer le style à la mode est illustrée par le double portrait de deux femmes en costume pantalon, que le couturier met à l’honneur dès 1966 avec le smoking, puis avec la collection Bonnie and Clyde en 1967. Il ne cessera de travailler le costume, de le recomposer, de saison en saison, en privilégiant toujours l’attitude : « L’élégance est une manière de se mouvoir... » affirmait ainsi celui qui a transformé l’uniforme masculin en une expérience absolue de la séduction, avec des blouses de soie à lavallière, des bijoux, un trait de lipstick, et une cigarette, dans un hommage renouvelé et intemporel à Marlène Dietrich. Everything in these felt-tip sketches bears witness to the Saint Laurent allure. This way of stretching a body, of preferring style to fashion, is illustrated by the double portrait of two women in trouser suits, which the couturier honoured as early as 1966 with the dinner jacket, then with the ‘Bonnie and Clyde collection’ in 1967. He never stopped working on the suit, recomposing it from season to season, always favouring attitude: "Elegance is a way of moving...". Thus affirmed the man who transformed the male uniform into an absolute experience of seduction, with lavaliered silk blouses, jewels, a dash of lipstick, and a cigarette, in a renewed and timeless homage to Marlene Dietrich.
