An Empire gilt and patinated bronze desk timepiece/inkstand, circa 1810


1½-inch enamel dial indistinctly signed, the fusee watch movement with verge and balance escapement, finely pierced and engraved gilt balance bridge and silvered regulation dial, signed on the backplate Adm. Bourquin A Paris, mounted within a grape-gathering basket carried in the mouth of a dog, a child seated on the dog's back and carrying a bunch of grapes, the base forming the lid of an oval inkstand containing ink wells and a pounce pot
