A pair of Kutani vases mounted as lamps, Meiji period, late 19th century
each oviform with short everted neck, decorated in red, green and yellow overglaze enamels and gilt on a crackled cream ground, with variously shaped inscribed seals, the neck with band of scrolling karakusa, the underside of the flared rim with pomegranates above foliage, key fret pattern to the rim, later mounted as lamps
the vases 40cm. high, 1ft. 3¾in.
