the pierced backrest centred with a gilt medallion incorporating wings and a crocodile, the fluting parcel-gilt throughout, the arms on baluster supports, the caned seat with a later dusty rose grosgrain cushion, the seat rail with a painted and penwork frieze of serpents winding around a staff, on turned tapering front legs and sabre back legs
