Original canvas. The paint surface is in good, stable condition with strong passages of impasto throughout. Under ultraviolet light, there are a few minor specks of retouching in the sky, mainly on the right hand side and a larger spot of retouching along the centre of the upper edge. There are a few minor spots elsewhere. Held in an ornate gilt frame.
