Ja Morant is one of the NBA’s most exciting rising stars. The 2020 NBA Rookie of the Year and a 2022 All-Star selection, Morant is a high-flying, score-at-will player, who possesses playmaking abilities that would support an electric career in the NBA.

Morant is one of the league’s most exciting players to watch. ESPN’s Jay Bilas said, “there aren’t that many players that you can’t take your eyes off, he is one of the very few.” A well-rounded stat stuffer, Ja has lived up to the expectations of being the second overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft.

This jersey was worn by Ja Morant on March 13th, 2022, in a 125-118 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder. Ja scored 17 points and added 10 assists (including this highlight no-look pass) and 5 rebounds. The jersey comes with a ResMatch certificate from Resolution Photomatching in regards to the game use.

Going Deeper | Ja Morant

Born Temetrius Jamel Morant, Ja drew attention as a high school player, playing AAU basketball with Zion Williamson, the highly touted prospect and the 2019 number one pick (picked just ahead of Morant).

Although he was the highest scoring player in his high school’s history, Ja, who was rather undersized, initially did not receive any college offers. In search of an NCAA offer, Ja attended a camp in South Carolina ahead of his senior year high school season. During this session, Ja was relegated to a secondary gym. James Kane, an assistant coach at Murray State University, happened to wander past - on the hunt for the concession stand.

“Within a few minutes of watching Ja, you knew he was special,” said Kane, who immediately notified his head coach.

Morant would play two seasons at Murray State, becoming the first player in NCAA history to average 20 points and 10 assists per game (since the NCAA started tracking assists in the 1983-1984 season). During his second season, in the NCAA tournament, Ja led the 12-seed Murray State to an upset win over the 5-seed Marquette. Ja had 17 points, 16 assists, and 11 rebounds in the game.

After his sophomore season, Ja declared for the 2019 NBA draft and was selected second overall by the Memphis Grizzlies. He claimed Rookie of the Year honors after his first season.

In just his first three seasons in the NBA, Morant has put up remarkable numbers, scoring over 40 points on seven separate occasions, and dropping a career-high 52 points in February of 2022 against the San Antonio Spurs. His posterizing dunks, no-look passes, and circus shots have made him one of the league's most exciting talents.
