A. Lange & Söhne's Saxonia Double Split was launched in 2004 and it was the world's first double rattrapante chronograph, housing a second minute counter on top of the traditional split seconds.

Robust and impressive, the present watch features a 43 mm diameter platinum case, powered by the extraordinary caliber L0001.1, which has an ingenious mechanism that allows both the chronograph hand and rattrapante hand to fly back. In order to contain the powerful movement, the watch is with a substantial thickness, approximately 15 mm. Taking a look at the sapphire crystal case back, one can admire the depth and layers of architectural excellence of the German watchmaking brand.

The dial design draws inspiration from the firm's Datograph model, and creates a new identity for the Double Split by incorporating a power reserve aperture in place of the big date. Upon close inspection, one will notice the second rattrapante hand is in a different golden color from the regular blue. Remarkable and exceptional, the astounding level of attention to detail for the Saxonia Double Split is sure to be appreciated by all watch collectors.
