Launched in 1985, the reference 3940 was the first highly complicated watch in regular production.
Thanks to its ultra-thin case and its perfectly balanced dial this timepiece is one of the most beautiful examples of Patek Philippe’s synthesis of technology and style.
The present 3940 features a German calendar and shows engraved hieroglyphs on the case back which could be translated as "may you be content/pleased". Discontinued in 2007 and replaced by the reference 5140, the reference 3940 is today considered a legendary model among collectors.
Accompanied by Patek Philippe Certificate of Origin, additional alligator strap and 18k yellow gold buckle and presentation case.
