From the 1960s - 1970s Heuer was the most prominent brand in motorsport timing. in 1971 Jack Heuer had the idea for a new watch line to attract a younger market segment. Jacky Ickx, a young Belgian driver, was chosen as an ambassador. Heuer created a new chronograph line carrying his name and also his signature on the dial. The watch was developed as an entry level model to attract younger buyers.
Sotheby's is honored to offer the collection of a former race car driver (in total 28 watches) with proceeds benefiting an initiative to support children of refugees in Germany.
