Reference 5074 combines two very important complications mastered by Patek Philippe, namely the perpetual calendar and the minute repeater. First launched in 2001 in white gold, the present example cased in pink gold with a black dial debuted in 2005, and only a handful of them has came back to the market. The watch wears an impressive 42 mm diameter on the wrist with a hefty presence from its pink gold stepped bezel case, contrasting in perfection with the subtle black dial. The dial layout stays true to the roots of traditional perpetual calendars from the manufacturer, offering excellent legibility for its symmetrical balance. Employing the calibre R27 Q, the movement is incorporated by a minute repeater, which the activation can be observed through the sapphire display back. Not just any minute repeater, the present watch utilizes the cathedral gongs which is twice as long as a regular gong, encircling the entire movement of the watch two times, providing a more profound and stable acoustic experience.
