Born in 1958 Switzerland Franck Muller developed a huge interest for mechanical devices since a very early age and is now a world renowned, exceptionally talented watchmaker. After four years of remarkable success at the Geneva School of Watch Making, he presents the world with his innovative timepieces which were highly sought after by collectors for their interesting complications. The present Janus Chronograph Monopusher would be a rare, early piece from the legendary watchmaker. Cased in platinum, the present watch is very likely to be fitted with a vintage 19th century movement from antique pocket watches, which is the case with Franck Muller watches of this period. The present watch exhibits double personalities with two dials on its front and back. The front features the chronograph registers and revolving black and white ring dial for the diurnal and nocturnal hours, while the back features an oversized seconds counter with pulsation scale. Such is a complication found on very early pocket watches as well, which is unremembered until revitalized by Franck Muller. Fascinating and charismatic, the present lot is a chance to acquire a significant piece of history in Franck Muller's watchmaking career.
