A young and adventurous brand, Urwerk is an independent watch manufacturer founded in 1997. Discomposed with the traditional recipe of success, Urwerk draws inspiration from science fiction and has created an identity of its own through unorthodox design and complications.
The present watch embodying the essence of the Urwerk’s DNA is a UR-210 introduced to the market in 2012. Featuring an avant-garde shaped pink gold with DLC-coated titanium case the watch is both attractive and comfortable to wear, however the UR-210 movement shown through the semi-skeletonised dial is what would capture all attention.
Powered by the fascinating UR-7.10 movement with a “Turbine Control” system, the watch allows the wearer to either shut off the automatic winding system completely, turn it half on or fully on based on the preference of the user and was designed to protect the movement according to the activity the holder is performing at the moment. While it is already incredible, the movement is further highlighted with the “satellite time indications” with retrograde function. The UR-210 is simply the best representation of the brand’s success since its first launch.
