Part of the Octa Collection, the Octa Lune launched in 2004 and won the ‘Favorite Men’s Watch award at the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève, the most prestigious award ceremony in the watch industry. The Octa Lune collection went through a subtle revamp in 2015, with improvements and alterations for all components, while retaining its visually distinctive design.

This piece is one of the revamped watches as seen in its larger 40 mm case in platinum. Previously, the Octa Lune was produced with a 38 mm case or a 40 mm case, whereas following the revamp, the 38 mm case was discontinued, leaving a 40 mm case or the new 42 mm case to choose from. The larger cases have also allowed for increased legibility of the dial, featuring its date aperture and time in larger sizes. 

Powered by the practically perfect pink gold calibre 1300.3 movement, the frosted dial also illustrates the movement’s impressive 120-hour power reserve, as well as the moon phases, depicted by a beautiful silvery moon against a bold blue night sky. In an additional aesthetic change following the revamp, the previously seen Phases de Lune text under the moonphase display is no longer featured in the current pieces. This elegant F.P. Journe timepiece is surely a beautiful product of mechanical mastery and distinctive design.
