Since the launch of the Day-Date in 1956, it has been the ultimate goal of luxury Rolex collecting as it was solely made in precious metals. Being the first automatic wristwatch to incorporate the day and date function, it has been seen on the wrist of past US presidents and hence the lineage was granted the nickname “President”. Together with the matching bracelet, the present watch features a black “pie pan” gilt dial which is celebrated by vintage collectors. Encased in a 36 mm classic yellow gold, the watch is offered in excellent overall condition.
