A CENTURY OF INHERITANCE · WOMEN'S POWER CHARITY

Sotheby's jointly launches the A Century of Inheritance · Women's Power charity project as part of the Important Jewels auction which will be hosted on February 18 for Hong Kong’s RE(LUX) – A Luxury Series. The project presents an array of jewellery designed by Chinese designers and traditional clothing which highlight centuries-old craftsmanship. Organised and launched by China Women's Development Foundation, Needle and Thread Charitable Foundation helps women in remote areas of China to connect and cultivate its cultural heritage and traditional handicrafts to the wider public.

Produced by the Needle and Thread Charitable Foundation, the focus of this auction includes a historic first of a women's Chinese tunic suit with unique embroidery from the South-East region of Guizhou. To blend modernity and tradition, contemporary jewelers presents their object d’art with these traditional-crafted works, including renowned Hong Kong jewellery designer Dickson Yewn’s ‘Golden Kaiserihind Butterfly' brooch (lot 278) which captures the beauty of butterflies in nature, the Song-Dynasty inspired ‘Le Faisan Doré brooch (lot 282) by international Chinese brand TTF while emerging talent Yici Zhao presents ‘The Prelude’ brooch (lot 281) in the shape of a ruyi which symbolises luck and artistically reflects China’s unique cultural and historical core of the ‘The Central Axis of Beijing'.

百年承傳 · 女性力量

蘇富比將於2月18日的「珍貴珠寶」拍賣會與中國婦女發展基金會聯手推出《百年承傳 · 女性力量》公益拍賣專題，呈獻由中國設計師設計的珠寶及擁有百年技藝承傳的服飾。本公益項目是中國婦女發展基金會「一針一線」專項基金為幫助中國邊遠地區婦女傳承、保護及弘揚傳統手工藝品而悉心組織及推出，讓大眾認識這些瀕臨絕蹟的手工藝及喚起社會各界關注有關文化保育。

本次慈善拍賣焦點包括史上首件女性中山裝，此中山裝由「一針一線」專項基金會出品，衣上刺繡來自貴州黔東南地區，其技法有百年之久，來自苗族繡娘吳胜蘭及雨苗；本次的服飾作品跨界藝術珠寶，香港著名珠寶設計師翁狄森的「莊周夢蝶」系列「拍品編號278」；展露國際的中國品牌TTF取意宋徽宗御筆佳作而設計的「錦雞」系列「拍品編號282」，以及內地新銳設計師趙憶慈女士以「北京中軸線」為靈感設計的珠寶作品「華音」「拍品編號281」等。
