What is guaranteed?

Composed of graduated floral clusters set with old mine- and single-cut diamonds.

  • Diamonds weighing a total of approximately 28.00 to 33.00 carats
  • 20½ inches
  • Silver-topped gold
  • Circa 1860, with later additions

In good condition, especially given the age of the piece, with minor wear to the mounting. Mounting tests as silver and gold with a fineness between 10 and 14 karats. Diamond weight stated in the catalogue description approximated using measurements. The diamonds are approximately G-K color, VVS to I clarity. With a box clasp and later-added safety chain stamped "9 ct" for 9 karat gold. The center link fitted with a pendant hook. According to the consignor, approximately 5¾ inches of links were added to the back to lengthen the necklace, but very finely crafted with well-matched old mine-cut diamonds.
