Description

Property of Lady

Diamond wristwatch, Jaeger-LeCoultre

Designed as a graduated line of brilliant-cut diamonds, length approximately 173mm, accompanied by the original case.

The Jaeger LeCoultre 101 calibre can be considered the smallest manual wind movement in the world. Despite updates it marked the ability of Jaeger LeCoultre to produce smaller and accurate movements for miniscule cases. The 101 movement that we see nowadays is much the same as it was when first made when etiquette ruled ladies not to wear watches for formal or evening events. The 101 watch overcame the problem and this is the reason why Queen Elizabeth II worn a 101 calibre for her Coronation in 1953.
