Pink-enameled meiping are extremely rare, and only a handful of Daoguang seal mark and period vessels have been documented. A pair to the present lot was sold at Christie's New York, 25th March 2010, lot 1418, and then again at Christie's Hong Kong, 28th May 2013, lot 2286. See also another closely related example sold in our London rooms, 8th November 2006, lot 269. A small Daoguang reign-marked bottle vase, previously in the Edward T. Chow and Yangzhitang Collections and also covered in pink enamel, was sold at Christie's Hong Kong, 31st October 2004, lot 1166, and then again at Christie's Hong Kong, 1st December 2009, lot 1890.
