A Sevres bleu lapis rectangular tray, 'plateau a tiroir a pieds', 1757
painted with a vignette of three birds in branches issuing from a mound, the narrow border gilt with four bouquets below a gilt dentil rim, interlaced Ls mark, date letter D for 1757, painter's mark of a lozenge
length 6⅞in.; 17.5 cm.

Two similar bleu lapis trays, dated for 1757 and painted with vignettes of birds by Etienne Evans were sold at Sotheby's. One was in the Collection of John T. Dorrance Jr., sold at Sotheby's New York, 20 October 1989, lot 163, formerly with The Antique Porcelain Company, New York; the second sold at Sotheby's London, 13 June 1995, lot 226.
