the body of narwhal tusk with a naturally-spiraling pattern, with finely-turned discs above and below, on retracted foot with a short, stocky baluster base with ebony;

emerging from the vase is a slender shaft of ebony discs with four carved floral stems in ivory and partially colored in green and red

height 18½ in.; 47 cm
