tapering form, the sides chased with scrolling strapwork around three vignettes of reclining women, the underside of the base engraved with an archer fondling a nude woman, the cover with mermaid thumbpiece, the central raised boss engraved with arms and 'GEORGE VON HAGEN, 1604',
