rectangular, the lid set with an enamel plaque painted with three washer women by a river in front of a fountain and a ruined tower, one crossing a bridge in the foreground, led by a cheerful white dog, the lower right corner initialed B for Jean-Daniel Berneaud, within a richly-chased multicolour gold garland border, the sides and base engine-turned within similar borders with chased ribbon-tied cornucopiae at the corners, maker's mark and CK control mark,
