The present painting shows an early collaboration with the distinguished French luxury design house Hermès, for which he designed a time-only watch with wooden dial. Part of the Mors collection, 'mors' being French for 'horse bit', the watch clearly resembles the piece of metal that goes in the mouth of a horse and is used to attach the reins.
