Gérald Genta

Once Gérald Genta began his own collections, some models were highly recognizable and could easily be linked back to him. This very design is a testimony to his work and features the famous octagonal case shape and the lapis lazuli sub-dial. Unlike some other well-known models, this skeletonized perpetual calendar also features a highly complicated minute repeater and is equipped with a typical bracelet.

This particular painting is nicely executed in watercolour on paper and features a printout of the dial glued on top of it. it also represents the side of the timepiece as Gérald Genta neededthe casemaker to perfectly understand the exact height the designer required. This watch, which belongs to the Gold on Gold series, was one of the favourite models of Gérald Genta. To him, it truthfully embodied his vision of the perfect octogon.
